This design was created for Istanbul Grand Airport. The work takes the moment of baggage claim at airports as its conceptual starting point. When a passenger places their suitcase on the conveyor belt, physical contact ends, and the item leaves individual control, becoming part of the system. The sculpture makes this cycle visible on a spatial scale.
The form is based on a structural arrangement referencing the conveyor movement. The suitcase is treated as the basic plastic element. These objects, expected to be in constant circulation, are fixed and brought together in the work. Thus, the aim is to transform the temporary into a permanent structure.
The sculpture measures 450 x 400 x 150 cm and is made using stainless steel. The material choice was made to create a durable and industrial expression that is compatible with the airport architecture.
The conceptual design of the project belongs to Beyazıt Öztürk.
3D modeling and technical development were carried out by Burak Taş, and the production process was completed with the sculptors team.
